Pakistan: Two killed, 22 injured in explosion at Lahore’s Lohari Gate area

Lahore Deputy Inspector-General of the Operations, Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, told Geo News that the investigation was in the early stages and the nature of the explosion was confirmed.

An explosion near the Lohore Lahore gate area on Thursday killed at least two people – including one child – and injured 22 others, officials said, reported Geo news.

The nearest shop windows and buildings were destroyed by the explosion. Some motorbikes were also damaged.

Lahore Deputy Inspector-General of the Operations, Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, told Geo News that the investigation was in the early stages and the nature of the explosion was confirmed.

Police officials said the explosion created a 1.5 foot crater on the ground. Wounded people shift to Mayo Hospital.

Mayo hospital officials said four people were in critical condition, with doctors trying to save their lives. Medical officers have provided first aid to other injured people.

The area has been released and police officials are gathering evidence from the crime scene.
