“Our officers were called to pick him up,” said the Arlington animal welfare on his Facebook page.

“Sgt Balaena took her safely to the shelter where she would stay until we found a new house for her!” The organization said, posted a picture of a brown-haired chicken in a plastic carrier cage.

The league asks for advice for a name, attracting many ideas: “Henny Penny,” After the Pentagon, some are recommended.

“Colonel Sanders,” said one person.

Pentagon’s security does not offer an explanation of how the chicken goes into the complex, or whether it has a certain threat.

“I’ll check this chicken for bugs … and not a biological type,” one person wrote on the Leangean Facebook page.

“What is Clustercluck,” Military Times wrote.
