Narendra Modi at WEF: Great promptorator, unplugged

Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the World Economic Forum on Monday night.

“This bouquet includes the US Indian temperament,” Modi said in Hindi, modulates his voice and lifted the finger to emphasize when he said the word “temperament”.

“It contains our talent,” he continued, once again emphasized the word “talent” with a lifted finger.

As Modi did, he glanced at his left.

“Who …,” he said.

He looked back to the left, this time turned his head.

He kept looking, his expression changed, then he turned to face the microphone again and raised his hands as if throwing them, then looked down and looked into his ear to his right ear and looked up again.

Then Modi said: “Klaus … Thek Se Suna Raha Hai?”

The host, chairman of the executive WEF Klaus Schwab, convinced him: “I hear you.”

While Schwab was still talking, Modi continued: “And, and the sound of our translator also reaches everyone?”

When he spoke, his voice wasn’t sure, Modi glanced to the right.

Schwab said: “We heard you very well and I would suggest that we start the official session now.”

There is awkward silence. Modi nodded, stood in front of the microphone on the world stage, silent.

After a mistake (maybe the teleprompter function) was repaired, Modi started his speech again.

The Prime Minister’s pause clip is being distributed widely on social media.

Journalist Rohini Singh Tweeted: “It seems that some poor technicians in PMO will lose their jobs today. Hopefully they are not charged with incitement / UPA and what noida does not. Noida Media must be alert to take some Khalistan relationships with a shame today!”

Gaurav Pandhi, the Bio Twitter who identified him as a national coordinator of digital communication and the Social Media Congress, posted: “When overcoming the WEF in Davos, ‘teleprompter’ goes and the Great Orator does not know his speech and what to say.”
