Bellbottom has become the first big Bollywood movie to be released in theaters since the second wave of Covid-19. The film opened at a time when only 50% of screens in India have reopened, with reduced ability.

Speaking with variety, Akshay said someone had to take the first step. “Vashu Bhagnani is a bold and brave man and I respect that he is the first to take the jump, despite the fact that some major territories such as Maharashtra, who constitute 30% of the company remain closed. Someone had to move forward First, for the health of the industry, and it happened with Bellbottom, “he said.

The actor, in an Instagram station, also confessed that he felt the nerves of the first day. “This nervousness of one day before the release of liberation and swears to God, I missed it,” he said, promoting his film. Bellbottom also stars Lara Duta, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi.

Bollywood has taken a massive success, like all other industries in the country, because of the Pandemic of Covid-19. Several big budget movies were delayed and there were no box office collections to support the industry for months.

When the theaters opened, earlier these years, movies such as Roohi and Mumbai Saga were the first few to free in cinemas. However, the second wave took over the company once in a row.

Kangana waited for the release of his film Thalaivi. The film was planned to release this year in April. However, it has been delayed indefinitely because of the second wave of COVID-19.
