Dengue outbreak in UP’s Firozabad: Death toll rises to 67; 3 doctors suspended

With the emergence of the rainy season in the country, Firozabad staggered under a large outbreak of dengue fever where many, most of the children have lost their lives. The suspended doctor is a medical officer responsible for the primary health center, Dr. Girish Srivastava; Medical-in-Charge Dr. Saurabh Prakash; and public health experts from Ruchi Yadav. In the middle of Rising toll road, Chandra Vijay Singh District Judge also warned government doctors for strict action for every negligence in treatment of sick people.

The ICMR team rushed to Firozabad

A team of health experts from the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) has been rushed to Firozabad to gather larvae from affected areas to find out the variants that cause health problems in the district.

Additional Director (Health) up Ak Singh said the ICMR team was a member with the Ministry of Health and the 18-member medical team had started work to find out the cause of fever and ensure the possibility of shortcomings in medical facilities affected by the area.

Team members also visited various affected areas and talked to people who suffered fever and based on their symptoms, collecting samples to determine the cause of fever.

The supervision team also tried to control the dissemination of mosquitoes and examined the type of mosquito, the PTI news agency reported, quoting additional health directors.

In Mathura, several villages held a hunger strike after a child gave up on viral diseases in Koh Village. This problem was then resolved after Mla Karinda Singh arrived in the village and persuaded the villagers to stop their fasting. It was the 11th death for dengue fever in the district on Thursday.

State-wide program launched

After the plague, the state government will launch the broadest programs where health workers will go from door to doors to identify people who suffer from fever and also those who have Covid-19 symptoms. This program will be launched on September 7 and will continue until 16.

In urban and rural areas, where one or more dengue fever patients are found, anti-larval spraying will be carried out throughout the village or the affected locality.

Dengue is a viral disease transmitted mosquitoes that spread widely in the rainy season. Symptoms include high fever, headaches, rashes, muscles and joint pain.
