Worried and wordless: Padma Lakshmi calls attack on ex-husband Salman Rushdie a ‘nigtmare’

Booker prize winner Salman Rushdie was stabbed on Friday, August 12, while he was ready to deliver public events in New York, USA. The news of the stabbing surprised the whole world. Now, the ex -wife of Indian writer Padma Lakshmi finally opened the tragic incident.

Lakshmi noted that he was finally relieved after hearing about Rushidie’s health improvement when he was removed from the ventilator.

Bringing to his Twitter account, American TV personality calls The Stabbing Day as a nightmare, he’s tweeted, ” Relieved @salmanrushdie pulled after a nightmare on Friday. ”

His tweet appeared after the report came out that the author had been issued from the support of ventilator and now interacting and feeling better.

Lakshmi and Rushdie were married in 2004 and divorced in 2007. This is the first marriage of Padma Lakshmi and
Rushdie’s four. He was only 28 years old when he married Rushdie who was 51 years old. The author ‘exotic’ 24 years younger than him.

His son, Zafar Rushdie, also released a health update, reading, “My father remains in a critical condition in a hospital that receives sustainable medical treatment,” Zafar Rushdie wrote in a statement. “We are very relieved that yesterday he was expelled from additional ventilator and oxygen and he could say a few words.”
