Moon Cooled Down Later Than Thought, Suggest Chinese Lunar Mission’s Samples
Solidified lava vestiges brought back by a Chinese mission were 1 billion years younger than material acquired by other missions decades, according to an article published in the journal science, which suggests the moon cooled later than thought. The reported samples of American and Soviet missions had more than 2.9 billion years. Samples acquired on China's Chang'E-5 Mission last year - old around 1960000000 years - suggests volcanic activity persisted longer than expected.
