Moscow: Russia said on Friday that one crew member died and 27 disappeared after the Moscva missile cruiser sank last week, Moscow’s first entrance ticket followed the tragedy.
The flagship of the Russian Black Sea fleet has led the Russian Navy’s efforts in a conflict for almost two months in Ukraine, playing a central role in the siege of the Mariupol port city.
After Moskva drowned, parents and other seafarers’ family members serving on ships – including military service – were brought to social media, said that their children were lost and that they needed answers.
“As a result of a fire on April 13, Moskva’s missile cruiser was very damaged due to eruption of ammunition,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement brought by the Russian news institution on Friday.
“A servant was killed, 27 other crew members were missing,” said the ministry, added that “396 remaining members” had been evacuated.
A senior Pentagon official said the Moskva warship was beaten by two Ukraine missiles before sinking in the black sea.
The Russian Ministry of Defense made an announcement after the authority first said that all crew members had been evacuated.
“The Russian Ministry of Defense provides all the support and assistance needed to the family and friends of the deceased and the missing,” said the statement.
It is said that the “absolute majority” contract soldiers want to continue their services on the black sea fleet ships.
In the last few days, a number of Russian parents called for the truth about their missing children, but Kremlin previously refused to reveal the details of victims on warships capable of carrying up to 680 sailors.
