After the bloody winter again in the kingdom, fans would be more demanded to see the Korean horror series again. We are still waiting for Netflix to confirm that the third season is happening, but we can look forward to the special episode of an hour “Ashin of the North” which comes July 2021.
The kingdom is the South Korean horror series south of Netflix written by Kim Eun-hee. This series is based on the land of the gods, which was also written by Kim Eun-hee. First arrived in 2019, the horror series has become one of the most popular non-English titles available for streaming on Netflix.
Is Kingdom updated for Season Three?

We have more than a year since the release of Kingdom Season Two on Netflix, and unfortunately, we still haven’t heard the news that this series has been extended for the third season.
Our belief that the kingdom will return has increased greatly after confirmation that this series will return with a special bonus episode, exploring the character of Gianna Jun, depicted by Jun Ji-Hyun. It has been confirmed that the kingdom: Ashin from the north will come to Netflix on July 23, 2021.
Despite the lack of updates, we are still convinced that this series will return for the third season. Our beliefs are only supported by more because of Kim Eun-hee’s scenario writer and Park In-Je Director interviewed by a Hollywood reporter.
When asked about the number of stories and numbers he left behind, Kim Eun-hee had the following to say:
Strangely, the kingdom is a series that gives me more energy the more I write it. The cast and crew all have large chemistry, and there are many more to tell. If the viewer allows, I will be happy to see it develop even until season 10.
The last thing we have heard from Kim Eun-hee is that he discusses what role may have to be played by Jun Ji Hyun in season three:
I think Jun Ji Hyun will be a central role besides the main character of seasons one and two.
Fans, and indeed ourselves, happy to read how enthusiastic Kim Eun-hee is about the future of the kingdom. Ten seasons are very ambitious, but considering how popular the horror series is, who said it could not reach double numbers?
What is expected from the third season of the Kingdom

Plague in the north
After seven years and three months since Prince Chang falsified his death, we learned from Shin Muda, in a reunion with Cho Beom-pal, that His Majesty has investigated the resurrection plants, hunting throughout Korea. We know that the resurrection plant has grown in areas throughout Korea, and mysterious sellers of the Chinese / Korean borders have sold them to ordinary people.
Taking Prince Chang, Seobi, and his northern guard, they found a village left behind. After investigating, they soon discovered that the village was infected. After sending one of the undeads, the next bell ring between the trees shown, even more, infected is on the way.
With only three trained warriors between them, from what we see, it is very likely that Prince Chang might need to retreat from the north. Without the relevant number of soldiers to reduce zombies, there may be other outbreaks in the north.

Who is the seller of plants?
Track the northern mysterious seller, finally revealed someone who tried to spread the plague was a woman. The motives are not clear at the moment, but when one farmer reveals that he has bought a resurrection plant from the border between China and Korea, so he can work for the Ming Dynasty.
The aim is to destroy the Korean population, then allow Chinese forces to conquer easily.
Or, he might just want to watch the world on fire.
Prince of the new corpse?
Even though removing worms from the young Prince as a baby, from at least one parasite remains in the system, lay eggs until the brain is quite developed to take over.
For now, what we know is that the worm that carries infection has spread to the brain of the prince. Considering it has lied dormant for seven years, it can affect young royal differently from other victims.
Personally, it will be too easy to infection to claim the prince, turn it into a monsters without mind and spread the plague in the palace wall. Chances are we will see a new form of contamination, which might damage his mind until finally turning it into a smarter zombie and even more deadly.
Will the medicine be found?
Seobi spent most of the seven years trying to find medicine for the undead outbreak. In addition to the discovery that sinks victims in water destroying worms, very little progress has been made.

- Worms are influenced by the weather, it supports cooler temperatures over warmth, but is very fluctuating when exposed to extreme heat.

When can we hope to film to start the third season of the kingdom?
The global pandemic is the biggest obstacle to the original future because it is for some original Netflix who sees delays such as grace and Frankie, or cancellations such as light.
Without news confirming that the royal back for season 3 is difficult to speculate when we can expect filmmaking to start.
When can we hope to see the third season of kingdom on Netflix?
As we have specified above, Covid-19 can greatly affect the production of the third season, which means we can see the series that is delayed at least a few months.
