New Delhi: Twitter can deal with government action for bringing a bad map from India, which shows Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as a separate country.
The map that appears on Twitter’s “Tweep Life” section shows Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, outside India. The deformed card has been reported by a Twitter user and has generated many angry reactions.
Sources say the government can take difficult measures.
This is the last controversy in ongoing interlocking between the government and Twitter over a range of BJP leaders’ position marking problems as “handled media” to new social media rules.
Twitter had reported concerns “freedom of expression” while meeting the new rules, including name India-based compliance officers.
As it was slow to respond to government warnings to comply with the rules, there were Twitter issues losing legal protection against user-generated content.
On May 31, Twitter told Delhi’s High Court that she appointed Dharmendra Chatur, a partner of a TWITTER law firm as a provisional grievance adjustment agent. However, the government stated that it could not accept the appointment of foreigners at statutory positions.
