At 158,880, August Covid infections in Maharashtra 33% less than July

Mumbai recorded 323 new Covid cases on Tuesday and one death, took the maximum city infection calculation in August to 15,977.

Maharashtra on Tuesday recorded 4,196 fresh Covid-19 cases took the number of infections recorded in August to 158,880, around 33% less than July.

239,863 Covid cases were registered in July, while in June, the number was 316,293. The total number of Coronavirus cases recorded in Maharashtra has now reached 6.464 million and the death toll because this disease has reached 137,313. Of the 127 beds for cancer patients with covid, which require dialysis, 66 or 51% empty, data shows.

Mangala Gomare, Executive Health Officer Public Health Department, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, said, “We have noticed the vacancies that continue to increase for the past two-three weeks. Panties in cases witnessed during August are mainly responsible for this.”
