A Tibetan Airlines aircraft came out of the runway on Thursday at an airport in Chand Chongqing and caught fire, AFP news agency reported, quoting local media.
All 113 passengers and nine crew members were evacuated safely. Those who suffered minor injuries were taken to the hospital, the airline was quoted as saying by the ‘people’s daily’ managed by the government.
The visuals distributed on social media captured large fire on the runway where the plane landed with smoke steaming in the sky. The evacuation team on the ground was seen watering the aircraft and the environment to delay the flames.
The flight headed to Nyingchi Tibet when the crew paid attention to “abnormalities” and “deferred to take off”, causing the jet to storm the runway and caught fire, the AFP news agency quoted the company in a statement. “All passengers and crew have been evacuated safely,” said the airline.
This incident came for almost two months after the Eastern Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft which were aligned and slammed to the ground in mountainous areas in South China, killed all 132 passengers. It is said to be the deadliest accident in China in about 30 years. While there is no reason quoted for disasters, two flight recorders, or ‘black boxes’, found that were analyzed in the United States in the hope of opening the mystery behind the accident.
